Impact Story: Empowering 14 Women through RPL Training by HAFCT
Humanity Always First Charitable Trust (HAFCT) successfully implemented a Free Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program for 14 women candidates under the Sewing Machine Operator trade, creating a meaningful impact in their lives and communities.
Most of the beneficiaries belonged to economically weaker sections and had basic stitching skills gained informally at home. Through HAFCT’s RPL initiative, their skills were formally assessed, upgraded, and certified as per industry standards. The training focused on improving stitching techniques, quality control, machine handling, and workplace readiness.
Post-certification, the transformation was clearly visible. Several women started earning a regular income by taking tailoring orders from home, while a few secured jobs in nearby garment units. This financial independence has strengthened their role within the family and contributed to better living conditions, including support for children’s education.
More importantly, the program boosted their confidence and social recognition. The candidates now see themselves as skilled professionals rather than unrecognized workers.
HAFCT’s initiative has not only validated their existing skills but also opened doors to sustainable livelihood opportunities, reinforcing the mission of empowering women through skill development and inclusive growth.
