Health & EWS Awareness Camp \u2013 <\/strong>12th<\/sup> July 2026<\/strong><\/h2>

Event Introduction<\/strong><\/p>

In partnership with the Som Vihar Housing Maintenance Cooperative Society (SVHMC) and leading healthcare providers, Humanity Always First Charitable Trust (HAFCT) organized a comprehensive free health check-up camp clubbed with EWS Awareness Talk for Free Treatment by Pvt Hospitals. Check-up and Talk was held at the Pota Cabin of SVHMC, Sector 10, RK Puram. The main beneficiaries were the domestic staff (maids, drivers, attendants) of the residents of Som Vihar and guards, karam-charies & staff of Som Vihar.<\/p>

Focus was on basic check-up like BP, Sugar, BMD, PFT, Dental and Eyes Check-up with consultation of MBBS Doctor and ECG (only if recommended by the doctor).<\/p>

81<\/strong> community members walked through our doors that day and left with a better understanding of their health status, actionable medical advice, and in many cases, immediate relief through on-the spot reading spectacle. For many, this was their first comprehensive health screening in years. 07 <\/strong>went through ECG<\/strong> on the spot due to recommendations of the Camp Dr. In 40 <\/strong>cases, free spectacles<\/strong> were also provided to the needy. 07 <\/strong>were recommended for Cataract Surgery<\/strong>.<\/p>

Health Discoveries<\/strong><\/p>

Hidden Health Threats Detected<\/strong><\/p>

For 81<\/strong> community members, June 21st<\/sup> revealed hidden health threats. Early detection of these conditions enables timely intervention to prevent serious complications including heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, and vision loss.<\/p>

Blood Pressure & Cardiovascular Risk<\/strong><\/p>

Multiple beneficiaries discovered dangerously elevated blood pressure levels without any prior symptoms. Some readings indicated immediate risk for heart attacks and strokes. Physicians provided counseling on salt reduction, stress management, and daily monitoring. For working-age adults, this screening identified a treatable condition before it became life-threatening.<\/p>

Diabetes & Metabolic Disorders<\/strong><\/p>

Several individuals tested positive for undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes, while others showed pre-diabetic glucose levels. In 11<\/strong> cases random blood sugar exceeded 200 mg\/dL<\/strong>. Early detection enables management through diet, exercise, and medication before complications develop.<\/p>

Vision Correction<\/strong><\/p>

Eye examinations revealed numerous cases of uncorrected myopia affecting reading & work capacity of beneficiaries. 40<\/strong> received spectacles on-site for conditions they’d lived with for years due to cost barriers. Immediate vision correction improved both safety and quality of life.<\/p>

Som Vihar Management Committee Support<\/strong><\/p>

The Som Vihar Management Committee facilitated the venue, and community outreach for the health camp. All administrative & infrastructure support was provided by the committee for the smooth conduct of the camp.<\/p>
