Health Check-up Camp \u2013 <\/strong>10th<\/sup> May 2026<\/strong><\/h2>

(To Commemorate International Mothers\u2019 Day)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

Location:<\/strong> Som Vihar, Sect \u2013 10, RK Puram, New Delhi<\/p>

Event Introduction<\/strong><\/p>

In partnership with the Som Vihar Housing Maintenance Cooperative Society (SVHMC) and leading healthcare providers, Humanity Always First Charitable Trust (HAFCT) organized a comprehensive free health check-up camp at the Community Hall of SVHMC, Sector 10, RK Puram. The main beneficiaries were the domestic staff (maids, drivers, attendants) of the residents of Som Vihar and guards, karam-charies & staff of Som Vihar.<\/p>

What made this camp truly special was that it coincided with the International Mothers\u2019 Day on 10th<\/sup> May, a befitting occasion to organize a comprehensive range of free health services. From basic health screenings to specialized consultations, from young children to elders. Every individual received personalized attention and care.<\/p>

114<\/strong> community members walked through our doors that day and left with a better understanding of their health status, actionable medical advice, and in many cases, immediate relief through on-site spectacle provision. For many, this was their first comprehensive health screening in years. In 28 <\/strong>cases, free spectacles were also provided to the needy. There were 47<\/strong> beneficiaries who opted for Blood Test. 05 <\/strong>beneficiaries were recommended for ECG, <\/strong>out of which one was found to have a serious heart condition<\/strong> thus advised immediate care under a clinic \/ hospital. 08 <\/strong>were recommended for Cataract Surgery <\/strong>and 03 <\/strong>for Cornea Treatment. 28 <\/strong>opted for Dental <\/strong>check up out of which 06 <\/strong>were recommended for Caries <\/strong>Treatment, 08 <\/strong>for Scaling & Polishing<\/strong> of Teeth and 03 <\/strong>for Halitosis. 21 <\/strong>opted for Hearing Aids Test, <\/strong>out of which 04 <\/strong>were found to have hearing issues and recommended for further clinical treatment \/ examination. 12 <\/strong>opted for lungs capacity test (PFT) <\/strong>and 71<\/strong> opted for Bone Mineral Density Test<\/strong><\/p>

Health Discoveries<\/strong><\/p>

Hidden Health Threats Detected<\/strong><\/p>

For 114<\/strong> community members, May 10th<\/sup> revealed hidden health threats. Early detection of these conditions enables timely intervention to prevent serious complications including heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, and vision loss.<\/p>

Blood Pressure & Cardiovascular Risk<\/strong><\/p>

Multiple beneficiaries discovered dangerously elevated blood pressure levels without any prior symptoms. Some readings indicated immediate risk for heart attacks and strokes. Physicians provided counseling on salt reduction, stress management, and daily monitoring. For working-age adults, this screening identified a treatable condition before it became life-threatening. In one case the ECG revealed a very high risk and the person had to be referred to hospital immediately.<\/p>

Diabetes & Metabolic Disorders<\/strong><\/p>

Several individuals tested positive for undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes, while others showed pre-diabetic glucose levels. In 07<\/strong> cases random blood sugar exceeded 200 mg\/dL<\/strong>. Early detection enables management through diet, exercise, and medication before complications develop.<\/p>

Vision Correction<\/strong><\/p>

Eye examinations revealed numerous cases of uncorrected myopia affecting reading & work capacity of beneficiaries. Many received spectacles on-site for conditions they’d lived with for years due to cost barriers. Immediate vision correction improved both safety and quality of life.<\/p>

Bone Density & Osteoporosis<\/strong><\/p>

BMD testing identified concerning bone density loss, particularly among women and elderly beneficiaries. A few showed severe osteoporosis, putting themselves at high fracture risk. These findings prompted specific recommendations for calcium supplementation, vitamin D intake, and weight-bearing exercises to maintain mobility and independence.<\/p>

Lung Function & Respiratory Health<\/strong><\/p>

Pulmonary function tests revealed significantly reduced lung capacity in community members with high pollution exposure. Auto-rickshaw drivers and street vendors showed lung function comparable to smokers despite never smoking. In few cases capacity tested at less than 50% of normal. Results prompted N95 mask distribution and breathing exercise training.<\/p>

Vision Correction Story<\/strong><\/p>

03 beneficiaries <\/strong>who have been advised immediate Eye checkup at the eye clinic by dilation of the eyes<\/strong> for detailed examination of Cornea<\/strong>.<\/p>

08 beneficiaries <\/strong>who have been advised immediate Eye checkup at the eye clinic for likely cataract \/ glaucoma<\/strong> treatment.<\/p>

28 beneficiaries<\/strong> who were provided with spectacles<\/strong> on the spot as per the eye\u2019s power \/ vision needs.<\/p>

Blood Test<\/strong><\/p>

47 beneficiaries<\/strong> who opted for Cholesterol and Calcium Blood Test. Their test report has been shared directly by the lab with them. 28 <\/strong>opted for advanced comprising of CBC, KFT, LFT, Lipid Profile, which was available on 50% Discount of the listed price.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong>Som Vihar Management Committee Support<\/strong><\/p>

The Som Vihar Management Committee facilitated the venue, and community outreach for the health camp. All administrative & infrastructure support was provided by the committee for the smooth conduct of the camp.<\/p>
